Traveling with your pet by airplane might bring a little more stress when planning a trip, especially when settling for the place to stay or the airline to fly with. When it comes down to it, everything is about the well-being of your furry friend, so a little research is the right way to start the arrangements.

Many things are there to consider when choosing the right airline for both of you, some of them don’t allow pets to be transported in the cabin, therefore they have to go cargo, others have weight or breed restrictions. Some airlines charge more expensive taxes, but they also offer higher level of customer service.

Here is some research to help you pick the best one:

1) Air France
• Weight limit: 6 kg (13.2 lbs) in cabin, 75 kg (165 lbs) in baggage compartment (including transportation cage and food)
• Fee: $22-$222 (20-200€) (each way, depending on the destination)

2) ALITALIA
• Weight limit: 10 kg (22 lbs) in cabin, 74 kg (163.14 lbs) in baggage compartment (including transportation cage and food)
• Fee: $22-$166 (20-150€) (each way, depending on the destination)

3) American Airlines
• Weight limit: 9 kg (20 lbs) in cabin
• Fee: 125$ for cabin / 175$ for baggage compartment (each way)

4) ANA – All Nipon Airlines
• Weight limit: no pets allowed in cabin
• Fee: calculated as baggage, depending on the destination

5) Iberia Airlines
• Weight limit: 8 kg (18 lbs) in cabin
• Fee: $27-$266 (25€-240€) for cabin / $133-$333 (120€-300€) for baggage compartment (each way, depending on the destination)

6) KLM
• Weight limit: 6 kg (13 lbs) in cabin, 75 kg (165 lbs) in baggage compartment (including transportation cage and food)
• Fee: $22-$222 (20€-200€) (each way, depending on the destination)

7) Lufthansa
• Weight limit: 8 kg (18 lbs) in cabin
• Fee: $38-$77 (35€-70€ for cabin), $77-$333 (70€-300€) for baggage compartment (each way, depending on the destination)

8) Qatar Airlines
• Weight limit: 32 kg (70 lbs) in baggage compartment, no pets allowed in cabin
• Fee: 100$-1750$ (each way, depending on the destination and pet size)

9) Swiss Airlines
• Weight limit: 8 kg (18 lbs) in cabin
• Fee: $55-$111 (50€-100$) for cabin, $111-$444 (100€-400$) for baggage compartment (each way, depending on the destination)

10) Turkish Airlines
• Weight limit: 8 kg (18 lbs) in cabin
• Fee: calculated as baggage, depending on the destination

When you have no human companion to travel with, your pet may be the best one.
Of course, you still have to check what are the rules in the country you intend to travel with your furry friend. You don’t want to end up like Johnny Depp and his furry friends (when they traveled in Australia).
